Honduras Sherry Coffee is processed using the Whiskey Sherry Barrel Fermentation method. First the freshly harvested coffee cherries undergo meticulous washing followed by being placed into whiskey oak barrels that have been matured with sherry whiskey at low temperatures for 30-40 days (temperature approximately between 15-20°C). Afterwards they undergo shaded drying. This process allows the coffee beans to absorb the flavor of whiskey combining the flavors of coffee and whiskey into one.
Our Honduras Sherry Coffee is medium-roasted with ground beans carrying a unique whiskey aroma. Upon tasting there is a distinct whiskey flavor followed by hints of vanilla in the middle and ending with a nutty taste. Dont worry the coffee brewed from these beans no longer contains alcohol after roasting so you can enjoy it without concerns about driving.
